Hi Cats and Dogs

According to the hotline the fields are closed today. Will this rain ever end?

Hope to see a big crowd next Sunday.

Take care

Andrew

…believe it or not, I’m under the weather AGAIN.

Real question: who’s planning to show?

I may drag myself down there to say hello, since I’ve heard that my not appearing makes me even MORE fodder for C&D humor. You can make fun of me in person :-)

Karin

Sunday April 26th will be our Warm Weather Opening Game. Please join us at 4:45 for another Cats v Dogs closely contested, highly competitive, fiercely fun game. Hope to see all the regulars and the new players. Terry & Andrew

Chilly but two full teams

April 19th--chilly but two full teams

Hi Everyone:
Let the games begin. Come around 4:45 to get the rust off and add your name to the list. We play at Heckscher Field # 5 at 5:00 until dark.

Hi all,

James here, and I guess I’m a little late in announcing this.  I got engaged back in May, and I guess I never really got a chance to tell everyone, since the group has been sort of scattered this summer.  I spoke to Karin, and she sort of poked at me until I made the announce, so here it is.  For those curious as to how it went down, check below.

The Surprise…

Dear Cats and Dogs,

I wanted you all to know that our cherished softball game has joined the 21st century teaming up with with Meetup.com in order to put field #5 to use and guarantee that on any given Sunday we have enough players to play a game for the remainder of the season.

Last weekend, July 6th Andy and I were host to a full round of hitting, and a nine inning 15-13 Dogs over Cats, game in which we had 22 players. The regulars were Jeremy, Timmy, Lukas, (Tim’s pal), Dale, Terry, Andrew, Troy, Marita, with Ben and Natasha injured on the sideline, and Johnny the beerman reopening his concession at Field 5. The rest of the squad were new and very nice, fun people: Michael, Mike, Lati, Angela, Chip, Rob M, Alex, Ted, Ray, Matt, and several others whom without the list I can not remember.

There were 9 players ready to throw at 5PM and two full teams by 5:30. The game started at 5:45 and ended at 7:55. Several new players left comments on the site and others have signed up for July 20th game and I just added July 13th: next weekend’s game.

Please visit the Meetup website to see what it is all about. Officially join the “softball group” and you’ll get the updates. http://softball.meetup.com/84/calendar/8300415/
and RSVP for the game this coming Sunday or the week after.

Please come by 5:15 so your name is on the list and you get in some throws and swings.

All for now…

Terry
