Hi Cats and Dogs

We have had some lousy weather for several games this year which has kept participation down. Looks like we are going to get some decent weather this Sunday so we hope to get a good turnout. So come and spend a couple hours of your father’s day with us in Central Park.

As always we will be at Heckscher field # 5 at 5:00.

Andrew

Hey Cats and Dogs

Just want everyone to know we will be out there on Sunday May 25th for the regular cats and dogs game. So all you who are still in town this long weekend come on out and enjoy the game. The forecast is for sunny skies and temperature in the 70′s.

Hope to see you soon.

Andrew and Terry

Forget about opening day at Yankee Stadium or Shea. This Sunday April 6th is opening day for the 2008 Cats and Dogs Softball game in Central Park. Same old time (4:30) and place (Heckscher field #5). We hope to see some old and new faces out there on opening day and throughout the year. If more information is needed check the website or contact Andrew at kitand96@juno.com or by phone at 347-715-4625.

In other Cats and Dogs news -  New kid in the game!- Josiah Weston Saladyga joined the team on March 13th thanks to parents Wendy and Jeremy. Both mother and baby are doing well. The old man is quite a photographer so I would expect to see a picture or two posted on the web site soon along with some stats. Congratulations!

Perhaps he’ll show up on Sunday again more often if the Cats and Dogs show up to see

Joel’s Band, Jesus H Christ and the Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse…they are playing on Easter Sunday

Here’s what their website says:

New York-based Jesus H Christ and the Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse are an eight-piece rock/pop/punk/folk/metal/cabaret band. Likened to B-52s meets X-Ray Spex meets Weezer meets Blood Sweat and Tears, the JHC “difference” is horny, thinking-person’s, emotionally-bare lyrics protectively cloaked in hard candy pop. All original, stylishly diverse, stick-in-your-head songs about being bicoastal, stealing your boyfriends’ Kenneth Anger and Balzac references, compassion fatigue, boobs, Old Lyme, and widower-lust, with roaring guitars and celestial horns. Poignant, laughable, awash in sound and fury, signifying nothing, but saying everything that no one usually dares to say, JHC&TFHotA are really just eager to be held and loved. At which point they’ll become distant and forget to buy toilet paper.

JHC&TFHotA members have played with Prince, Elvis Costello and Twiggy, with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, under the direction of Leonard Bernstein, on Broadway in numerous shows including Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Wicked and in The Producers. Literary credits include a Pushcart Prize, and authoring the book Taxi Driver Wisdom. One “member” invented a beer called High & Mighty. They are playing on Easter Sunday at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater NYC

So are we playing today or is it a rain out?????
With the rain from the last 2 1/2 days should make the field very soggy. I did call Parks Dept. this morning and the field is open so let me know what the consensus is!
Please let me know!

Jeremy

Yup .. she’s a’rainin’ pretty hard out there..
